I don’t usually get the pleasure of meeting my couples before the wedding day, but I got to see Roohina and Mo twice! The first was at our first meeting – nice excuse to travel to Kauai – and the second was at their Sangeet. I love the contrast of the two days I filmed them – one was bright and had a Hawaiian-Indian fusion feel, and the other was lush, opulent and absolutely gorgeous. Both celebrations were at the Na Aina Kai Botanical Gardens on Kauai and were coordinated by Moana Events. I absolutely love filming at such breathtaking venues with such fun people!

I love when Hawaii people come home for their weddings. A lot of us tend to move away after high school and some stay away, but it’s always nice to come back to Hawaii. Sophia and Josh had quite the wedding celebration and it was a blast to film. The Grand Hyatt Kauai is absolutely gorgeous for wedding videos and it was a perfect day.

One thing that struck me from Kahana and Koa’s wedding was how warm and loving both their families were. By the time I left the celebration, the group hug total had to have been somewhere around 10 and I’m sure there were more as the night progressed. There were hugs, kisses, singing, dancing, uncles spontaneously jumping on stage to play music – it was great – a beautiful blending of families and friends. It was a reminder of what a wedding really is – two people committing their lives to each other and two families becoming one.

Kauai is a wonderful destination for weddings and Roxanne and Mike chose some amazing locations for their celebration. They were married at St. Raphaels church, the oldest church on Kauai and celebrated at the National Tropical Botanical Gardens in Poipu. How cool is it to have your own shuttle to explore the gardens?
Contemporary Flavors Catering had a fabulous array of food – even a whole pig – and don’t get me started on the desserts – macadamia nut creme puffs – yes!

Sometimes I get a wedding so amazing that I don’t know where to start. Chrissy and JD’s was one of those. Between the crazy in love, beautiful couple, the hundreds of twinkling candles, the imu with kalua pig, the hula performance and the cake homemade by Chrissy’s mom, I found myself smiling and giggling and commenting out loud to myself while editing how amazing this wedding was! I had a blast with this one and can tell that it was a day to remember for Chrissy and JD and their family and friends.
Christy and JD were married near Anahola, Kauai. Their celebration was perfectly framed with the ocean on one side and the stunning Anahola mountains on the other. I especially loved all of the candles in their reception tent. Legacy Events Kauai went over the top on designing this wedding.
One of the neatest details was that Christy and JD got engaged on the beach that we filmed their couples shots, so it has even more sentimental value. I’m a sucker for love stories, so it was super fun to hear their engagement story as we were driving down to the beach.
I am absolutely in love with Alicia’s pink dress, J’s bow tie – and this adorable couple! It was drizzling on the drive over to their house, but the weather cleared and made way for a stunning sunset wedding at Ke’e beach on Kauai. The beauty of the surroundings was only bested by the incredible love shining through Alicia and J (and of course their looks – because you have to admit they are gorgeous). It was such a pleasure to film this wedding.
Na Aina Kai Botanical Gardens on Kauai is one of my favorite locations to film weddings because there are so many amazing spots! Ben and Cathy were married alongside the lagoon and partied the night away in the lower field near the beach. I absolutely loved their Hawaiian wedding ceremony and their vows for each other. What a lovely day!
Aimee and Tony were married at the beautiful St. Regis Princeville resort on Kauai. I absolutely loved the flower leis hanging from the trees and the hula show! Aimee and Tony were so sweet together and it was so much fun to get to know them through the day.
To be honest, I was skeptical about needing a videographer, but after seeing just our highlight video alone, I couldn’t imagine not having had Michelle there (in fact, I wish we had her stay longer!).

Darla and Jake had a real elopement on Kauai! It was so exciting to help capture their wedding so they could share it with family and friends (most who had no clue they were getting married). It seems so neat that they could keep it a secret in the age of Facebook and Twitter. What a lovely couple and an amazing sunset they had on their wedding day.
